42308 6942 d 13 h ripley /trunk/src/include/ change reference to GPL
41909 6986 d 16 h ripley /trunk/src/ move gevents routines to a public header.
tidy up header inclusions

41887 6989 d 21 h murrell /trunk/ export R_GE_str2col for external graphics devices
41875 6990 d 9 h ripley /trunk/src/ tidy up the treatment of vfonts (including removing duplicate declarations)
41771 6996 d 15 h ripley /trunk/src/ sort out some more of the problems with r41767
39880 7196 d 1 h duncan /trunk/src/include/R_ext/ typo
39866 7196 d 8 h duncan /trunk/src/ The following are half the files changed to compile R with C++.
These are the simple, safe changes that keep the stricter compiler happy.

Change variable new to _new, class to klass, this to This or _this, template to Template, not to Not.
Remove some duplicate routine declarations.
Modernize some K&R routine parameter definitions.
Make explicit the signature for some routine pointer types.
Declare mode in creating connection as a const char * const.
Correct some routine declarations.
Add a throw to some routine definitions if in C++ to match built-in definitions.
Made the Clinkage explicit for rwarnc, rexitc. Use enum labels/constants where necessary.

The goals of using g++ are
a) to use a stricter compiler to discover anomolies in our code,
b) be able to use g++ -fdump-translation-unit so that we can more readily
do code analysis on the routines, variables, expressions and at the very
least allow me to identify the use of global variables automatically
and propose refactoring strategies,
c) to explore the pros and cons of using an Object Oriented programming
language C++ as the base language to get extensibility at the system level
and take advantage of some higher-level language features such as exceptions.

38705 7304 d 15 h ripley /trunk/src/ remove some unused entry points, take others static.
add prefixes to graphapp and some graphics entry points
improve the use of / <--> \ conversions under Windows

36820 7524 d 5 h ripley /trunk/ update FSF address
36748 7528 d 21 h murrell /trunk/src/ Added 'repEnds' arg to grid.xspline()
36366 7558 d 22 h murrell /trunk/src/ Added widthDetails and heightDetails for grid xsplines
36362 7559 d 0 h murrell /trunk/ Added 'arrow' argument to line-related grid primitives as new way to
specify
arrow heads on either end of line.

Deprecated grid.arrows().

Outlawed NA's in control points for an x-spline primitive.

36317 7560 d 21 h murrell /trunk/src/ Added X-spline primitive to graphics engine AND to grid
36203 7568 d 8 h ripley /trunk/ add length-checking for the 'family' graphics parameter, and boost to 200 chars
34785 7706 d 20 h murrell /trunk/ GEDevDesc *dd removed from GEcontourLines()
(as suggested by Barry Rowlingson)

34747 7710 d 11 h ripley /trunk/src/include/R_ext/ add include guards
allow to be used from C++ (where public)

32815 7853 d 20 h murrell /trunk/src/ Added graphics engine API version
31994 7917 d 20 h murrell /trunk/src/ new "warn" and "wrap" arguments for grid.grab()

new grid.grabExpr() function

new GEnullDevice function

31938 7923 d 1 h murrell /trunk/src/ New recordGraphics() function for recording arbitrary code on the graphics engine
display list; intended to encapsulate calculate-then-draw operations

recordGraphics(), .Call.graphics(), .External.graphics, and traditional/base
graphics operations do not record when they are nested within each other.

Error/user-interrupt handling code performs some resetting of graphics engine
state.

grid drawDetails methods are recorded on graphics engine display list by default
(so will be rerun on device resize or copy between devices)
